Hello again, in the end i think i spent 9 days on Phi Phi and it is a beautifull place it was severly hit by Tsunami in 04 and as with many places is still undergoing a rebuild . When i first got there i was suprised to see a really modern pier and caribbean looking welcome which was disconcerting as i was expecting a more beach hut type facade. I booked a bungalow for 1200 baht about 24 pounds and felt very itchy about spending so much money but as it turned out theres not an awfull lot for much less and as christmas was in 2 days i thought i bettter get in somewhere nice, and it was very nice. The diving was very good , that was the original plan for coming here i did 2 local dives and was very lucky to see leopard and black tip reef sharks as well as a big Hawksbill turtle who was very serene, i also did a dive called Hin Daeng which is a reef about 2 hours my speed boat out and that was a choppy and painfull ride but the dives where beautifull so worth the bad back. Saw loads of big Congor eels and followed one for a whie when he left his hole, heaps of small bright reef fish and nemo from finding nemo made a few appearances also lots of big barracuda. Evert night theres lots of beach parties with fire limbo, skipping, eating etc etc !! Went to some cool bars and had a vegetarian full english for my xmas lunch at a cafe called " little britain' how awfull !! but the foods good (shame on me). Thats some news as well im a fish eating veggo now havnt eaten meat in 2 months, just went off it and then stayed off. Because of the new Thai immagration rules only allowing 15 days at land borders, which i think is bloody stupid i decided to take myself off to Langkawi in time for New Year and im really glad i did. The main beach is 2 mins from where im staying and its lovely good swimming and great beach bars, had a smashin NY dancing on the beach to a funki up beat reggae band the singer had the longest dreads ive ever seen and they where awsome. Have met some good people again and have gone from my nice private bungalaow into a hellish dorm with rubber sheets and no mossie nets (how the mighty fall when they need to have a major budget) but im very happy . Yesterday i went for a drive around the island and went to a couple of nice out the way beaches and today ive been learning poker and playing backgammon, Lush.Thers lots of monkeys here and big sea eagles also ive seen some brightly coloured parrot type birds, so all in all very nice indeed. In a couple of days ill start making my way back up to Bangkok via Koh Lipe and i have a flight from Phuket on the 14th with a flight to NZ on the 15th which is very exciting. Big Love x
