Well hello everyone! Sorry it has been over a month since my last update, but my time has gone so fast! We have been in Ayr for a month and it only feels like a week! We have been working so hard, only 4 days off, getting up at 5.30am every morning and then going to pick Zuchinii's and squash! Let me tell you it is not glamourous atall. We both had the impression that we would get a nice sun tan, wear our strapless tops and shorts, but NO we have to cover up as the sun was so hot and the plats scratch you to pieces! I will try to upload some funny photo's but at the moment this liitle town doesn't have the best facilities! When we first arrived in Ayr we couldn't beleive we would be able to stick it out. The backpackers we are staying in is really great apart from the ants climbing all over the sufaces in the kithen. ( I even made Gem a cheese and ant sandwhich one day)!!!! he he But the best thing about the hostel is the people, thay are great! Everyone is in the same boat, trying to earn some money so eveyone is really level headed! We started working on our 2nd day, Gem was woken up at an unearthly 6am to go to a farm, and 2 hours later I was called out to go to John Lewis Farm. Gem was based at Corricks which was the worst farm around, as they are slave drivers, I was luckier but still very hard work! Spent the 1st week weeding an entire paddock from 7am to 4.30pm. Bloody typical on the 1st week of working it rained for about 3 days, and it was horrible, you shpuld have seen the state we were in!!!!!! Also is is back breaking work! All that time spent bending over, we felt like old ladies at the end of the day! After the weeding i started picking Zucchini's and Squash! I can safely say I never want to see or eat one evr again!!!!!! Well we have made it through a month working, had our last day yesterday and it feels so good to not get up at 5.30am. I know eveyone at work will be shocked at me getting up that early. ( Speaking of work, sorry to hear about the job losses, its really sad)!!!! We have had such a good time all in all, we have done what we set out to do, and looking back now it wasn't that bad, although their was some nights we wanted to kill ourselves! he he We have a great group of people, and had some crazy nights out. One consisted of us staying up all night, waitiing to see eveyone go to work at 6am, staggering to McDonalds for breakfast, and then finally getting to bed at 8am!!!!!! We are leaving on Sunday to go to Airlie beach again, but to do the Whitsundays this time! 3 days sailing aroung the Great Barrier Reef, it is going to be amazing! We feel like we have eared it so we are just going to sit back and realx, do some diving and snorkling and even out my silly tan marks we have got! I seriously look like I am wearing a white vest!!!! We are going to Townsville tomorrow night for our leaving party. We are going to watch an Extreme show where their are people doing extreme things and then going out in the town! Should be good fun, can't wait although i will be sad to leave Ayr as we have got to know people very well, as it is the longest period of time we have spent in one place! I will now try to keep the updates more regular, but i didn't really have anything exciting to say, apart from oooooh I worked today! Love you all, Take care Melx
