Well the last couple of days have been on the back of the easy rider bike (basically a motorbike driver who took me for a spin around central Vietnam over 3 days between Dalat and Nha Trang).
Thr trip was well worth the expensive price tag, as my driver (Yip) took me accross the Hoi Chi Minh Trail which was one of the most important roads in the war and across the fantastic scenary in the area including jungles, minority villages and local waterfalls.
He took me to a number of factory type places which are run out of peoples homes which included rice paper making, silk making, incense stick making and coffee plantations. These were all really good in trying to understand the vietnamese life, in fact you soon notice that all the families have their fingers in lots of different pies as they make loads of the above to make as much money as possible rather than specialising in any area.
There are too many little stories of the trip i haven't got the time to list them all, but a few include seeing an eagle, helping a local cut some stone on the side of the road, getting a puncture on the bike and getting sunburnt and soaking wet in the same day!!
We arrived into Yok Don national park yesterday and stayed in a cabin next to the lake, which had the best view ever (see the photo) and i had my first elephant ride and hopefully not the last! That night Yip and I got drunk and stayed up late listening to Vietnamese music and UK music whilst listening out for local wildlife.
I woke early this morning and watched the sun rise over the hills which was great before the heavens opened and it rained from 7am till 3pm today so i have got soaked on the back of the bike. See its not all sun and enjoyment out here, some days its really hard work!
I have arrived into Nha Trang now, and i am hoping for a sunny day tomorrow on the beach after a long lie in!! Hammock and sun is what i need for the next couple of days.
