Ok following on from the ridicoulously hot day that i experienced on the viatname border we proceeded onto Chau Doc a little fishing villiage on the Mekong river.
As soon as we arrived we went on a boat cruise and visiting a floating village where they make the silk and a fish farm. The floating village was a little scary as we had to walk along a plank of wood with little support for "larger gentlemen" shall we say.
The fish farm was amazing as they were built underneath the houses of the farmers themselves and we only went to two farms which had over 800,000 fish - mainly cat fish.
After these two tours we went on a motorbike tour of Sam Mountain which was great fun along all the streets and up the winding mountain (more like a hill i would say) to the top where we chilled on some more hammocks with a beer (this seems to be my favourite hobby at the moment) watching the sunset - apart from a little rain it was really great.
then the snake soup arrived and i had to try it. It was really boney and difficult to eat but it tasted very similar to chicken - like all meat lol. I then ate the snakes heart which was a lot bigger than i expected and this tasted a little like liver but tastier. I think i may try it again on my trip to make sure i do actually like it or not.
After the trip we went back to the hotel ready for a 8 hour bus journey to Saigon (HCMC city) the next day
