I had a early start this morning after last nights "get pissed on a pound" attempt. Unfortunately we failed, mainly as a result of the street restaurants closing and Hoi An flooding a little bit restricting our access to the cheap pubs!! Although i "got pretty jolly on 1 pound 20p" instead.
After a 4 hour bus journey to Hue, where the scenary was amazing apparently, i say apparently because i was asleep for the majority of the journey as it was a sleeper bus.
When i got there i jumped on a motorbike taxi and told him to take me to all the attractions and i only had about 5 hours as i had a flight to Hanoi at 7pm. So we went to the Tu Duc tombs which were pretty impressive and interesting, it was good that they had information signs in English here which they don't always have in Vietnam so i did not really need to get a guide to tell me the story of Tu Duc.
I later went to an impressive Pragoda in hue, but i have to admit i think i am pragoda-d out nowq as i have seen so many of them and they are all pretty similar in one way or another.
Finally i went to the hue Citidel which was amazing actually and a hell of a lot bigger than i thought it was going to be when i read through the lonely planet. As i went there nearer the end of the day iot was pretty quiet and i managed to get some great photos (i will try and upload some more tomorrow)
I arrived in Hanoi late tonight, so i thought i would write this quick blog before i head to my room to watch the Chelsea game which is on ESPN. I have decided to spend a night in a more expensive hotel to lord it up for a change, when i say expensive, its $25 and about the same quality as the Midland hotel in Manchester for all the work people (not quite Lowry standards though. Unfortunately i don't get loyalty points here either!
The plan is to book a 3 day trek to the top of Mountain Fansipan (3200m) tomorrow and a 3 day boat trip to Halong bay as my last trips in Vietnam. Its going to be a shame to leave Vietnam as i have had a great time in the country and made some great friends. But Thailand awaits!!!
