Saturday was our free day to roam and like I stated above, we were blessed with beautiful weather. First I toured the National Museum of Scotland which contains artifacts dating back hundreds of years. I dined at Frankensteins Pub before shopping on the Royal Mile.
Afterwards, we toured Edinburgh Dungeon which was thoroughly entertaining. The actors presented themselves as people who lived here 500 years ago. They managed to entertain us with humor while educating us on the more gory details of the past. One actor's demeanor reminded me of Johnny Depp, he was just grand! I highly recommend this attraction, I smiled the entire time!
We briefly visited Cafe Royale next, and discovering that it was full of patrons, we ventured on to the Garden Cafe where we had wine and appetizers outside on a patio. After our brief rest, we went to Calton Hill which gave us a lovely panaramic view of the city.
