Exploring Kowloon isnt the easiest thing to do in the world. There are soooo many people and you get stopped every 100 yards by an indian guy asking if you want a taylored suit or fake watches or handbags. After the 100th time of politely saying "no thanks" we started to get annoyed and just ignored them. Every available piece of space is used for advertising, there are signs everywhere which can make navigation a little hard at times. But anytime we got lost we just looked for an MTR sign and then get the tube to where we needed to be.

We spent saturday walking around the Hong Kong Space Museum and then during the evening we watched the light show by the waterfront. At 8pm every night the sky scrapers put on a light show with lasers and such, some of our pictures show it reasonably well. The next day we went across to Hong Kong Island via the world famous Star Ferry and walked around to try and get our bearings. We visited the Zoo and Botanical Gardens and soon realised that Hong Kong Island was much more hilly than Kowloon, we had our full bags on and had to have a break every 10 minutes.

On the monday (22nd) we went to Ocean Park which is a Theme Park/Zoo over here. Price wise it wasnt too bad as we've found with most things over here, not as expensive as people told us it would be.

Tuesday was spent visiting Happy Valley Racing Museum in the morning which was very interesting. I even designed my own Jockey Silks which are on the way back home in a box. After negotiating the post office to send some things home (not the easiest thing) we went to catch the tram to Victoria Peak to catch some stunning views across the Island and the whole of Hong Kong. Theres plenty to do up top now, though prices are a lot higher than they need to be but, just like Motorway service stations in England, they can get away with it because you have no other options.

On wednesday we travelled south to Repulse Bay and Stanley Bay. Not the warmest of weather so we didnt venture in but spent all day there. Stanley Bay had a very nice market area with very cheap (if blatantly fake) clothes, Hannah bought some shorts for 75p!!! We had a big lunch before catching the bus back to our hostel. In the evening we went to the races at Happy Valley. It only cost $1 to get in which is about 7-8p so you cant complain. Betting isnt the easiest and i had to read a guide book, even then reading the form is next to impossible and i had no idea of the odds of the horse i was betting on. Hence i only had 2 bets and lost them both!

Today has been spent travelling back to Kowloon for our last night. We came back to Hong Kong Island to go on the Central to Mid-Level Excalators (longest escalator in the world!) and to wonder around Wan Chai.

We leave early tomorrow for Singapore. We've enjoyed our time here and have had plenty to do. Hong Kong is a very clean, efficient and largely friendly place. Its an amazing place to shop with everything you could ever want (though i never found a Mugwai?!), but we couldnt take advantage of that with our lack of cash! Perhaps the only downsides are the pollution (which can be seen in some of the photos, its not foggy but pollution!) and the difficulty in finding food. All the good places dont have anything written in English making it hard to choose to dine there, it seems almost as if they dont want us to eat local food.
