My very last part of this journey and One of the last blog entries!
It feels so weird and sad!
This trip had to come to an end, but it went far too quick.
So, we travelled back to Bali after Xmas and stayed in Canggu! Unfortunately the accommodation was not as nice as on the pictures! "Voyager Creative Retreat" not sure which retreat, but it was very creative- in the middle if a rice field, surrounded by millions of Mosquitos. Literally a bed with four glass walls and a bamboo roof. The bathroom was a toilet, built on a wood deck, one glass wall and one sliding door- other 2 sides were open.
The shower was a pipe tied to a tree. Awesome! To stay here for my last 6 nights was a bit too much!
Found another place straight away, moved in the next morning. But we still had that one night there, which was horrible! We covered ourselves in mosquito spray and solution, lit up some insect incense and stuck the curtain into the door handles, as door didn't even close!
The fan didn't work well and we stopped killing Mosquitos after a while, as there were too many. Terrible and so boiling hot!
Had planned to meet up in Canggu with Ricarda! She came for 3 weeks - surf- yoga- surf!
Was so cool to see somebody on my trip from Amsterdam! A very nice transition to then come back home.
We spent our days with either beach, scooter trips, had another surf trial, a horse riding trip on the beach, some massages and lots and lots of mango lassis and food!
Canngu is a very nice little surfer town! Lots of cute restaurants, mostly western influenced food and mostly owned by Australians. Everything is a bit spread, so you definitely need a scooter to get around! Unfortunately there are building works everywhere- which means that in a few years time Canggu is not as cosy and cute anymore, but full of tourists! ( the locals actually like that, it means more work for them)
Again, my poor Andy got ill! Not only was he more than sunburned, nope- this time he had a very bad allergic reaction on his arms and neck!
One dinner, he stood up and walked out as he got so uncomfortable and hot! Rico and I were Kind of laughing about how weak men are and what massive drama they always make!
When we came home Andy actually was very sick, puked his guts out, was all pale and sweaty - so I started to worry a bit!
He even skipped the horse ride and went to a Doc in town! Turns out he had very bad "hives". Probably from Sun and heat! So the poor thing spent the next days inside, came only out at night.
But luckily the last 3 days it only rained! So we could at least go outside during the day;)
New year was very quiet: went to the echo beach for dinner! ( No drinks for Andy bcs if his hive-pills... )
Nice food, some last dessert, yummy fresh juices, watched the fireworks and were home by 12.30!
Happy new year- lots of massive changes and resolutions to come! For sure more sports and less food- not done any sports in weeks now- Nat you would not recognize me...haha!
