We packed up early and headed to the jetty to fish. We caught lots of bait fish with the jig, and Nick caught a huge toad fish. After lunch we headed off to Brisbane, it was a long drive and we didn't get there until after dark. We stayed with Jimmy (Nick's uncle) and had the luxury of sleeping in an actual house for the night!

Today we went fishing in the morning. Paddy caught a flathead. I played in the sand and I had a swim. We had lunch with Mum's friends (Hayley, Col and their girls Addison and Ella). Then this afternoon we went fishing again. I had a play on the beach and I caught two fish. Cal caught a fish, Dad caught a fish and Isla caught a crab and a fish at the same time. Happy birthday Dad! Today we left Bundaberg and drove to Hervey Bay. Before we left, we visited the Bundaberg Gingerbeer Factory. We learnt the ingredients of gingerbeer are water, sugar, lemon juice, yeast and ginger. It needs to be left for a week or so to ferment (that makes the bubbles). Great Barrier Reef - here we come. Our day started out nice and early, we needed to be at the Marina by 7:00 to board the "Main Event" for our tour to Lady Musgrave Island. Today we drove to Bundaberg, only 1 1/2 hours away. After we set up we went to the Bundaberg Rum Factory. We did a tour. We got to smell and taste the molasses. The three ingredients of rum are yeast, molasses and water. First the sugar cane is made into molasses. Then the molasses is mixed with yeast and water and put into fermentation. After that it is put into vats for at least two years, then bottled and sold. We got 2 free ginger beers. (Mum and Dad ...
