"Viva Las Vegas!"
Today we left Los Angeles and began our journey Eastbound across the USA. Our next stop is Las Vegas. We had a great journey and arrived to find our RV site right across from the resort pool. The kids loved it, although it was a bit cold.
We then made our way to the Vegas Strip to see the sights of Las Vegas. It was sure an eye-opener for the kids. We saw all the "glitz and glomour" of Vegas and even ran into Elvis! But I am glad that the kids saw how everything was based upon gambling and that nothing was "real". They asked lots of questions and wondered why people would spend money like that. Then we ran into several people on the street begging for something to eat, as they had lost all their money. We all felt sorry for their situation, and the kids learned that gambling is not a good thing.
Las Vegas was good to see, but it was not a favourite. I am thankful that the kids were able to see what it was all about and that they are able to discern between what is good and bad. We look forward to moving on to Arizona tomorrow.
