Today started with a beautiful drive on the way to visit two of King Ludwig II's dream castles. Ludwig is best known as an eccentric whose legacy is intertwined with the history of art and architecture, as he commissioned the construction of several extravagant fantasy castles and was a devoted patron of the composer Richard Wagner. When we finally laid our eyes on the Neuschwanstein Castle it was like we were entering Cinderella's world. Neuschwanstein castle (which translated into English means New Swan Stone Palace) was built at the end of the 19th century and was built by King Ludwig II as a homage to the famous composer Richard Wagner. It was a long walk up but once we got to the top we could see why it is the most photographed building in all of Germany.
