Today we trekked to the waterfalls about 15 kilometres north of Sapa, and only a kilometre from the Chinese border. The waterfalls both took a lot of walking up and down steep tracks, but the Love waterfall was over 200 metres high and the Silver falls were over 300 metres high. After the trek we had a late lunch in Sapa, then it was a wait for a couple of hours until we departed for Dien Bien Phu on an overnight sleeper bus. After a beautiful clear sunny day yesterday, and again this morning, the cloud descended heavily after lunch, which effectively reduced the visibility to only about 100 metres.
