After our exciting trip north yesterday who can blame us for sucking in the sun rays, lazying by the pool and finally getting through our books. However Sunday marks the big games Tottenam v Newcastle and of course Liverpool v Everton - would I have to demonstrate my wife sympathy skills so soon (how will our marriage fair through three matches of the mighty Gunners against the Liverpool in ten days - I can work away from Home!). So Sunday night we ventured into Hua Hin, we found a great bar showing all the matches (about 8PM our time - we are seven hours ahead, six after the BST change this morning), I left Ian to check out the night markets. Now some find this arrangement srange but it works for me its like dropping Ian off at the creche only cheaper and for Ian its like ascerting his dominance in the relationship MAN = PUB + FOOTBALL / OBEDIENT WIFE .The market is full of excitment, music goes on until midnight and sells everything from the fruits from the urrounding makrest, fresh fish hauled in from today to the homemaid silks, clothes, sun glasses and yes knock off DVD and CD's you can find in any local pub. Anyway after some retail thearapy, exploring and a stomach that was turning into mount vasuveuos I returned to my happy husband who had (as normal) won the locals over and made new friends (all who could name the Liverpool team past and present). We had a great dinner, few drinks (you can't get Southern Comfort in the local bars but they made fabulous ccktails that had me on the rails but not quite cheering for the mighty scouse reds). We had a great night, Liverpool scraped out the final 1/2 for a 1-0 victory, I apologised profusly to the owner for keeping the bar (and its ten staff) open way beyond its closing time and we headed home on the taditional Thai transport of the Tut Tut (four wheels much better for cornering although not great for the country roads to our hotel).
