Gili T, one of 3 Islands just off of Bali was absolute paradise. No motorised vehicles were allowed so the main transport was either bicycles or horse and cart. At this stage Jess had flown home and Kyle and Simon had joined the group. First day we arrived we met up with Jenna, Jenny, Gemma, Josh and Callum taking the total to 11. Simon, Kyle and I had our own chalet next door to the rest who had the hotel to themselves for a few nights. Paige, Jenna and I had our first meeting for scuba school the first evening we arrived. We met our instructor Ron and the rest of our group. After a few videos we headed back to the hotel and started drinking. Second day at scuba school was spent in the pool. A total of 8 hours learning all the required skills. That night was an early one with a bit of homework before bed. The next day was our first sea dive where we made a short trip on a boat to Shark point. We saw the first of many turtles over the week however what was most impressive was a group of 30 bump head parrot fish which we watched for a while. In the afternoon, we went through more theory and went to the dive site Halik. On the 3rd and final day of the course the morning dive site was Manta point where we witnessed out first sharks. 2 white tip reef sharks, one adult out in the open and one baby underneath some coral. Before the afternoon dive the group took the final exam, all passing, but with me at the top of the class! In the afternoon dive we were missing Paige because of her ears and we went back to shark point. When we came back to the surface we had all passed our open water diver course! We had drinks to celebrate in the evening. Our 5th dive the following day was our first fun dive and first qualified at turtle point. Probably my favourite dive due to the amazing coral and as the name suggests the amount of turtles. Also seeing dangerous fish such as lion fish and box fish. For the rest of the day we just chilled before going hard for our last night on Gili T!
