Day 17-20 - Prague with Oscar
After catching a long and hot train from Budapest I arrived in Prague in the middle of the afternoon to find waiting on the side of the street. After struggling to find out air BnB host we finally got into our apartment at about 7pm and went to have a look around town.
We spent the next three days walking an extremely long distance, as we explored the old town and the Castle as well as along the river. We struggled in the heat only to discover that a large heatwave was enveloping Central Europe and Prague is not normally the 37 degree heat that we were experiencing.
Prague was an amazing city to which I would definitely go back. The cityscape was scattered with beautiful churches, the castle dominated the skyline and there was something to see around every corner. It also has an incredible history that I had only known the surface of. Not only that but the beer was great and extremely cheap.... It seemed like our days involved heading to some amazing building and then to the next beer garden, although in the heat I think it was necessary. This meant that over my time in Prague I drank in some of the most amazing places I think I ever will. The views we had while buying beers for around NZ $2 was amazing. The letna beer garden around the corner from our apartment was our favourite and we ended up going there every night. That's probably the thing that I will miss the most about Prague, but I must say that the city itself is extremely vibrant while also managing to be laid back and I'm looking forward to the next time I can enjoy all that it has to offer.
