I woke up today and felt a hundred times better. Had myself some milk and chocolate cereal and was given some sweet rice in banana leaf by the legendary owner of Kamalanta Resort, then I was on my way at around 10am. An hour to wait at Krabi bus station before grabbing the bus to La-Ngu. I then had an entertaining motorcycle taxi ride with the driver, my two bags and me to Pak Bara, the hopping-off point for the ferry to Ko Lipe. I hope it's worth it!

The trip today cost me around 450B in total and the ferry tomorrow will cost another 450B. I could have done all this on one day had I got up earlier, and I was quoted a "special price" of 1100B by a travel agency for the same trip, so I saved 200B going alone.

Having searched the streets for a vendor for dinner, I found some pad thai for 40B and got attacked by an ant in the process. Now I'm tucked up under my (complete) mosquito net awaiting the announcement of the football world cup 2018/2022 host nations. It's due to be announced at 10pm here and my guesthouse has BBC World News. Would love it if England won the bid! I will only be likely to have a wireless connection in about a week so this will sound a bit old by the time you read it...

The most vague update ever on the news. A useful chap has just told us "it's almost certain that the announcement will be delayed by at least a few minutes". Thanks. So, voting is over. Now for the announcement...
