I started this morning in Auckland with relatively little idea what would happen today. What actually happened was I hired a people carrier or "family wagon" and drove four English girls to Paihia. Sound suspicious? Not at all. We're on our way to Cape Reinga to see the proper north of New Zealand. So far we've only seen One Tree Point (which has several trees) as we started late in the day.

The only issue is what to do tomorrow. Definitely go to Waitanga where the treaty was signed, then to kayak or not to kayak? Either way it's an early start so I'll stop writing and start sleeping.
