Today was sunny! And hot. Oh so hot. So we went to the beach! Hear the childlike excitement in my voice! Almost every time I've been near a beach in NSW, something has gone wrong...
We've also gained some new friends in Xenia, Alex and Harmen. Harmen has a noisy LPG fuelled station wagon, so he followed us. From now on we are in convoy.
First up, we visited a blowhole in the same town as our beach. It was much more impressive than the one in Tasmania, and it still evoked powerful innuendo jokes in my head. Blowhole. Hehe... Anyway, the beach next, and we went out into the sea to enjoy the waves. Not surfing, just kind of... jumping. Remember things go wrong? I managed to cut my foot. Nothing serious, just annoying. And it was a seriously beautiful day.
But we had to cut it short to get to Kangaroo Valley and check out the view. It was lovely, but was probably worth a whole day's visit. We managed a sunset dash to a lookout at the end of a nasty unsealed road.
We got to Bundanoon YHA, who had called me this morning to confirm accommodation. Then it was our task to find a restaurant for Corina's birthday. She kept that a secret, though technically I think she mentioned it to me once. Oops. Our choice was Chinese or pizza. So we went to a Chinese place that was on the verge of closing and kept them awake for another hour. Slow life in Bundanoon!
Oh, and I somehow contrived to not put my socks, contenders for stench of the year, into the free laundry in the Blue Mountains. Arse. They have been quarantined in the boot of the car.
