Mate. I can't say that i've read every blog entry you have posted over the past 6 months. Proof positive when I didn't realise you were even back in the country until you turned up in the office.
That said, your final blog entry sums up your trip nicely, and is genuinely an inspiring one. I couldn't do what you did, but I hope others can.

I haven't even seen all 50 and I'm American. You inspire me to take them all on one day ... and not get jumped. Thanks for helping out around the house and with the wild kids three. They miss throwing the football around with you. Adam is doing better. Welcome home. Kim

Great final blog and journey summary. Welcome back home son!

Hi Matthew. Just read your 'final goodbye'. It's so well written that I feel like I'm having to go home too! What a great time you have had. Why do I get the feeling that you will be planning another trip very soon? Anyway safe journey home. England, complete with rain and cold, is waiting for you!

San Diego must have been interesting for you - discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina

Hello Angel, I thought that your mum might want to know that you are not only having fun but also saving lives. My husband and I met Matthew atop the Napali coastline in Kauai, where I being the forty something old woman amongst the younger and skinnier hikers, found myself clinging for life on a 5 inch wide, crumbling path on the side of a cliff. Matthew provided not only comic relief, but showed me exactly where to place each step. These instructions would not have been received well from my Husband of 20 years whom I love dearly but cannot take instructions from. Matthew kept me moving along the scary cliff, and got me safely to the other side. I was sure when it was all over that he was there at that time not by chance, but to be my personal Angel. What a lovely son you have raised! I'm sure you will be happy to see him home. It was a pleasure to meet him on our trip. Jennifer and David Wood, Independence, MO USA

Hey Matthew! Glad to see you made it safely to Hawaii, shame there's no pic of you in a hula skirt tho! Your blogs make great reading mate, and photos are cracking; I'm impressed at your artistic ability - pretty good for a code monkey!
Stay safe, and enjoy the rest of your trip! :)

Way to worry your mother! Up to your neck in freezing water, then stung by jellyfish! Glad you are still having such an amazing time. You certainly seem to be meeting some wonderful people along your way.
