Following our 26 hour bus ride from Thailand, we got to Singapore at about midday and checked into our hostel in Little India. We managed to stay up and have a look round the city. The boat arrived early and with no accomodation booked, we hoped they'd be somone at the pier with a room to spare. There were hundreds there, all with rooms. So we went through the crowd and found a half decent place the other side of the bay over looking Lo Dalam beach. It looked fine in the pictures but was halfway up a mountain in the jungle. Another short boat journey took us to Ko Phangan. We stayed @ Milky Bay resort which was great. We arrived and they told us our room wasn't available but they would put us into a studio suite at no extra cost. It was huge and definatley not a backpackers accomodation. So, I think we left by saying we were getting the overnight train to Surat Thani. We did this and it was an experience. Mostly fun but not too much sleep was had (not for the reason some of you might be thinking)!
