We arrived in Fiji at 5am, having crossed the dateline and missed Monday 17 September 2007! We were picked up and later dropped off at the harbour where we boarded for our transfer to the Manta Ray Island Resort. The transfer took a good 3 hours but the scenery was beautiful along the way, and we knew that we were in for something special!

Landing on the beach, we were greeted by singing and a loud 'bula' (greeting) from the staff. We were literally in paradise. The sea was the bluest we had ever seen, and the sand white and stretching for ages. We had a beachfront wooden bure, so we were literally at the water's edge.

We spent 5 days at the resort and it really was a great time to recharge our batteries. The food was incredible...lots of fresh fish caught off the island, we snorkelled in the clearest water and probably did the best snorkelling we had ever done. I couldnt dive as my ears were still blocked from the flu but Matt went on a morning dive, which was great. We kayaked, Matt fished and I ready 2 novels!

It was a perfect way to spend our 6 month anniversary! We left the island to head back to Nadi tanned, relaxed and definitely intending to return one day!
