Hello Mat
I've loved all of your pictures so far, it's nice to be able to see where you are and what you are up to. Can't believe it's only been a week but i'm sure time will go quicker when i've got more used to you being away.
I didn't spend any less on the shopping this week and finding it hard cooking for four not five or six(not forgetting Sarah). Sarah came for dinner last night and stayed over,it was nice to see her. Anyway I love you a lot and think about you all the time but hope you're having the time of your life. xxx

Mat,
Southampton University rang (we think to say that you had an interview, but Dan took the message and wasn't really sure) Neither me or Mum were in so Sarah looked up the contact addresses and I have today sent them an e-mail to say that you are definately interested. I have asked that they contact me by e-mail to arrange a date for an interview (if that is actually what they were trying to do). They did ask Dan to let you know, and to get you to contact them, but we don't know who it was that rang. Once I have found out I will e-mail you with the details.....lets hope it was an interview !!!! Well done if it was !!! Hope all is still well with you all. The pictures are great...we like the waterfall ones best....looks great. Hope the train journey wasn't too bad. Speak to you soon.

I think you are truely amazing! I have know doubt you will see fantastic things and some pretty dubious too. Hey ho, makes for great stories when you come back home. I can honestly say that spiders do very little for me, I have got over my running from the room in mad hysteria but lets face it ours are pretty lame, if they gave you a good bite you problably wouldn't notice. Thank you for you update!
Glad I wasn't there to see you off, I would have bawled like a Gywneth (if you catch my drift).
Love

Hi Mat,
Glad you are enjoying yourself now. I would expect that Bangkok won't be as bad second time around....you will sort of know what to expect and will have acclimatised yourself to the abject poverty causing the people to behave as they do. I imagine that some of it was the fact that you were at the start of your trip and were expecting (hoping) for it to be a nice experience. Once it is all over and you are back here, the smells and the people trying to sell you things ! will all be part of the experience and you will be bigger as a result (and after all, that is what it is about...the experience, rather than having a sanitised holiday !)
By the way, the photos didn't come through...they must not have loaded up properly. Don't delete them from your camera until we confirm that you are doing it right or you may loose all the memories.
Have a good few days trekking.....speak to you soon.

Hi Door Mat/Master B, Think I am going totally mad, I may have sent you an email instead of posting a message.....what more would you expect from Dippy Debbie, I just don't do technology!!!! I apologise if I am now repeating myself. England is very dull and gloomy today so weather wise you are not missing much. I have spoken to mum todayand caught up on your travel news todate. Joe will be really envious that you have seen the Little Britain man, he loves that show. Joe is now in London somewhere watching his other passion, Arsenal football club. Josh is upstairs pretending to do his homework!!! Adam is out with Georgia Richards his new love and Mr P is surfing the net from his armschair and doing a Tesco internet shop!! Anyway I am off to cook tea now, I am looking forward to reading further journal entries, have fun. Love Debbie and the Pugh gang xxx
