Bought some salami and said our goodbyes before going into town for Lidl. Joined the autostrada for a 90 odd mile section that cost €14.10. Mostly open farmland scenery of maize and some rice. We stopped for lunch with hazy, distant views of Monte Bianco and could see snow on other mountain tops.

Tonight's FA is a restaurant as well, although not open today but the parking is in a pleasant little paddock surrounded by maize and kiwi-fruit trees. It's 35C, stiflingly hot and uncomfortable, but the new fan does its bit to help.
