A beautiful sunny day today. Yesterday we went to the LOTR locations with a bit of history thrown in. This morning we went on an adventure in a Landcruiser, on unmade tracks carved out of the rock in the 1860s, to see some more LOTR places and ended up being driven in a river and thrown around on rutted tracks made by miners. As we climbed out of Queenstown the valley had a blanket of mist with just the tops of hills poking through like islands. The morning finished with a go at gold panning. Our group of 6 found a few tiny flakes but they really are miniscule. That doesn't stop the locals, who we watched this afternoon and were presumably getting bigger bits than we did.
Andy went on the jet boat on the Shotover river yesterday morning while I wandered with the camera.

Lynne Lovely adventures & some beautiful scenery. Pleased the weather has improved at last. Should we be worried how comfortable you look with the swords?
Mary Thanks, it's nice to read your comments. I've only just found out how to reply. Doh!!
