Just a quick note to let you know we heard from our Japanese friends and they are fine. Their only concern, of course, is the worry about leaking radiation. As you can imagine it was very good to get their email.
We are in Lake Havasu for a night having left Buckeye this morning. Not a long day's drive but interesting country once you hit the river.
The sky is a kind of puky grey/blue.....either from the wind whipping up dust or from the storm front heading our way from California. Gives a strange background to our pictures.
Before leaving Buckeye completely behind me I have to let you know that you can buy a house in the same subdivision we stayed in for $58,000. Yes, you read that right. For $78,000 you can get a house with a pool. You can't even buy land for that price let alone serviced lots. Anyway, that is the way it is down here. These homes are about 5 years old and are very nice 2 and 3 bedroom bungalows. Amazing!
But don't worry.... even with my Scotch blood you won't catch me living in Buckeye any time soon.
So, back on the road. YinYin's wedding is Friday ... hope the storm has blown over by then.

Ruth Glad to hear your friends in Japan are okay, such a sad situation. Have spent a bit of time in Lake Havasua and like it there, so if you were to buy a place there we would come visit. By the way, Shane, golfing starts tomorrow, can you make it?
Rod Hi guysyeah you just want to move Wilson Landing down there for the winter
