Arrived Santa Elena 5:30am, 7:30am bus to Chetumul via Belize City, arrived Chetumul 6:30pm, met Nat (Cornwall) on bus to Tulum. Arrived Tulum 10pm and checked into Weary Traveler. Got email confirming interview for Tuesday.

Worked out logistics of getting back to Toronto and called to arrange interview. Found bus to Santa Elena, shopped for interview clothes, walked to find 2010 sinkhole site (filled), bye to Max, 9:30pm overnight bus to Santa Elena.

Wait for bank to open, 10:30am bus, arrived Guatemala City 3:30pm, found hotel, walked downtown, lots of armed guards (rifles, shotguns, machine guns) very polluted city. Got email from Toronto asking me for in-person interview.

10:30am Coach to Guatemala border, crossed into Guatemala 3pm, get small amount of money changed and find chicken bus towards Guatemala City, met doctor on chicken bus, slow bus, 7:30 by the time we get to Hurhuetenango, doc offers us a lift with his family into town, find a hotel and dinner.
