The weather forecast was for rain in the afternoon. It came early and so i spend the morning getting a few rainy day things done (tax, blog etc). The rain hasn't let up by the afternoon but Justin and I decide to head out to trek the Skerwink trail. Its a foggy and haunting coastal walk and when we get back 3 hours later we're saturated, but its worth it. Hopefully tomorrow is sunny and i can take on a big ride and make it all the way to Gros Morne. Ambit...

Jason and I head off at 7am to oversee the roof being installed on their new house. Within the matter of a few hours the trusses are up and house is transformed. I plan to get to Gander today and end up saying goodbye to Jason and Heidi around mid-day. I never make it to Gander. Instead i make a detour to check out Port Rexton and spend the night in a hostel where i run into some of the people i met in St Johns last week. Tomorrow - Gander!

The plan was to continue my journey today, making my way west to Gander after seeing the roof installed on Jason and Heidi's house. Its a beautiful morning and we pack up the truck and head a little way up the coast to where the boat is moored. Its a scenic blast across the pond before we drop our lines to test our luck. Before Jason's line even touches the bottom he's hooked a cod. Its a big fish, but not by their standards so he drops it back in. Jason and Heidi are building a new house and they take me out to see it in the morning. They are ready for a crane to arrive on Monday to fit the roof trusses and their lead worker is setting up some scaffold. Jason and i give him a quick hand before heading over to the construction yard so i can have a play on one of Jason's excavators.
