I've had quite a few interesting dorm mates in the past few days...
...I arrived in Wellington on Saturday night, and no sooner i'd arrived I bumped into a guy from Ireland who I'd met in Auckland, and then eating my steak bumped into another mate from Rotorua! Its very bizzare! When I got into my dorm, there was no less, and what may as well have been Mr Miyagi from Karate Kid! He was from Taiwan and was absolutely hillarious, laughing at everything whilst necking his Scotch! (Not sure the real Mr Miyagi did that... ;) )
Well, Saturday night was my first night out on the town, it was awesome, Met some great people from Germany and we went out to party... (Including Mr Miyagi who unfortunately or fortunately wasn't allowed into the club in his flip-flops) I had a tour at 8am the next morning, which I made! Impressive eh?! Wellington is a great city, and I met a lot of people who have decided to make base there and look for work. Simon from Germany is a graphic artist and we were drumming up idea for web applications... see what happens!
Yesterday, at 7am, I boarded the Interislander ferry crossing across the Cook Strait! All I can say is WOW, the most amazing, stunning scenery I have ever seen...the ferry lasted around 3 hours and I spent most of it holding on to the hand rail on the top deck taking as many pictures as I could! Nearly got blown off my feet at one point, so decided it best to head back into the warm!
I'm now in Christchurch, the south islands biggest city, and is the most English of cities in NZ, I'm on Manchester Street.
I'm about to head out and check what it has to offer!
Last night I was just chatting to my two new male room mates and all seemed well and good, until he said they were recently engaged...!
Tomorrow, I'm catching the Tranz Alpine rail journey, apparently voted in the top 6 of all great rail journeys to Greymouth, from there I head south to the Franz Josef Glacier! What an amazing trip!
I have just over one week left here before Sydney!
Bye for now! Don't forget to check out the new 4 albums!
