Buffalo greeted us as we drove into the park, and you can see the taller trees in the background. We chose to visit the North Rim after being advised by RC's dad that there would be less tourists than at the South Rim. The views were stunning and the diverse countryside leading into the canyon was much different than what I thought it would look like.

#1 and his tomahawk he purchased with his spending money. He whacked on every tree and rock he saw in Grand Canyon National Park after the purchase. He HAD to stop at one of the Navajo roadside vendors on the way to the North Rim. #2 and #3 chose bear tooth necklaces.

Scrawny trees marked the beginning of Kaibab National Forest. I was disappointed at first, thinking the whole thing was going to look like Junction, Texas, which is pretty, but I've seen many a time. However, the trees grew taller shortly.

The Navajo Bridge is where we crossed the Colorado River as it entered the Grand Canyon. The views were spectacular!
