So... another big day today. Pushed from Four Mile Hut (just south of Kiandra) to Mackays Hut. Despite my upbeat blogging to date, there have been some issues, mostly mechanical and gear related. A really tough couple of days always has it's reward...four mile hut is exactly that. A beautiful hut, the last standing relic of Kiandra's goldmining days, is a credit to the NSW Nordic Ski Club. The picture tells it all!! First puncture on a long downhill yesterday. I made it to the Snowy Mountains Highway for a fairly makeshift campsite just off the road. Today, on advice from a MTBing ranger(!) I avoided the AAWT and rode the road to Kiandra and my food drop.
