Arrived in Poland to a chilling -2c.
First experience was a new for a person from Edinburgh. A tram into the city, running on time, and costing very little! We arrived in the centre to be greeted by RC churches everywhere, a super sized Holy Corner no less. Our funky little RE teacher guides, one looking a little bit like a hobbit and the other Victor Meldrew, walked us into the central square.
It instantly reminded me of Bruges. Huge cobbled square, horse drawn carriages and patio heated speckled cafes. We immediately secured food in true teacher fashion, in what looked like a crypt! Down and down and further down stair we went until an amazing little salad bar presented itself. After feasting we walked the square avoided spending a fortune on tourist tack in the cloth hall and squeezed into a tram back to our hotel. I swear sardines have more space in a can! It was the end of day one, Mark looked back, realised he hadn't lost any pupils assigned to him and decided it was good....
