Livingston is not connected to any roads - the only way in and out is by boat. We took a boat up the Rio Dulce to the town with the same name. This journey is the attraction around here, it goes through lovely jungle and Garifuna villages. Birds were a plenty and there was a very scenic spot where vast numbers of water lilies lay in the water. Bye bye Belize - loved ya. First stage was to catch an ex American school bus to a road junction, where we waited only 10 minutes to pick up another local bus going to Punta Gorda close to the border with Guatemala. I woke to a cloudless sky making it worth staying a bit longer. Plaencia is even more chilled than Caye Caulker. After a swim and a long walk on the beach there was little to do but sit on the hamock watching hummingbirds and coco nuts drop - but it is so nice.
