Last night involved a cheap bottle of Rum, various people that we travelled north with, some drinking games and truth or dare in that order. It was a very memerable night that I don't think that I will forget in a hurry. Liz is unsurprisingly paying the price and is still in bed with the usual emergency crisps at the standby.
Apart from the cockerals it is very quiet here. Cabins are widely separated on a steep slope with little paths going off to each one, the place has a wonderful rustic charm. Each cabin has a hamock on the veranda, where you can look out on forested mountains, palms and the river below.
Happy Days, Guatemala has changed my traveller experience but every continent does that - it is so infectious. Guatemala is about living and not taking things seriously.
We did not get much sleep last night, a cockeral decided that morning comes at 3 in the morning and continues throughout the day. I have had my runnings with cockerals ESP in the Philipines where you also heard them out at sea. Concequently we have been having a Siesta, me on the hamock and Liz on the bed.
The evening started off at the dorms listening to Hendrix before heading down to the restaurant for a buffet. The others had gone down to the shops and bought copious amounts of alcohol for later. The blessing here was that we did not buy in.
The evening started well, having a few laughs with various people from all over the place. However Cody a Canadian that the group met here on the first night seemed to be getting a lot more than his fair share of alcohol.
Things got worse when Missy went off with this mussel bound Israel guy who had just finish army service. Cody was friendly with Max who inturn had a thing for Missy. Put all that into the melting pot, wait for Missy and the Israely to return and you have one very explosive situation. As sure as Death and Taxes the ignition point came.
With a now none existant Karma it was time for bed.
