Ground hog day! We are going to experience 25th August twice as we are going over the international date line. Despite a 12hour flight we are getting there 7 hours before we set off -let's hope it is a good un.
LAZ airport is a nightmare, it took probally two hours to get out of the airport. Security measures include retinar scan and finger print checks in addition to all the other measures that they have put in place.
The hassles did not stop here, we waited for a shuttle that never came and then had to pay over the odds for a taxi as we were so knackered. When we got to the cheap hotel we were told that we could not get into the room for at least six hours. The hotel didn't even have a chair to sit on so we ended up sitting on the pavement until we could find a way to kill some time.
We ended up going to the restaurant at the backpackers across the road. This is not what you would expect, classical music playing and floral curtains - all intended to put you to sleep.
After a sleep on some sun loungers, we headed back to the hotel to get into the room. Easier said than done, it seems we have found a faulty towers here. The first room they gave us weren't cleaned, so wasn't the second room offered. The manager then came up to see for himself and chastise the Spanish speaking cleaner. We found a room in the end but the promise of keys hasn't happened.
