Banging around from other people and the threat of missing breakfast eventually got me out of bed. There wasn't a cloud in the sky. It was worth going to a view point around town but I didn't think we would enjoy a long walk. Liz reminded me that we really had to change the flights. The Internet at the lodge was too poor to use Skype, we had to go into the village to find an Internet cafe. Away from the hills around the lodge we could see the entire Fitzroy range including the striking Cerro Torre for the first time.
It was a long way down into the village and it had a hill in a good spot to get a good view of the mountains without treking for ages. With the flights changed we walked up somewhere named after Condors. It didn't take long to get up and indeed had good views. If you got out of the chilly wind it was warm enough to lie on the ground and have a chill. Just below where I was standing a Condor soared past very close.
We wondered over to another hill for some more slobbing from where we caught a view of a lovely little lake surrounded by trees with a possible snowy mountain back drop. It was indeed lovely but we didn't bring any water with us so headed back into the village. A lovely little impromptu walk with mucho larking about.
The rest of the day was filled using the Internet booking things for the final days of our world trip.
