After a lazy enjoyable morning we left Moree about 10am. We decided on a route that would take us through Narabri, Coonabarabran, Mendurra, Gulgong and Mudgee. The country out here is spectacular with the beautiful colours of green crops and yellow canola. So nice to see some hills and nice fat cattle and sheep such a vast contrast to Western QLD. We're back in NSW! Yeh. Ironically it started raining when we crossed the border at Mungindi. Ha. It's bloody cold in Moree. We all have the best suntans ever and we have to cover them up. Lol. The drive down was all pretty smooth although it has been very windy today. We are staying in a motel in Moree and yeh the beds are great. Arrived in Longreach all safe and sound. Drive from Mt Isa was nice through to Cloncurry and then the landscape become very barren. Can't believe the cattle can survive out here. The amount of road kill was amazing. In one km I counted 41Roos, 1 emu and 3 pigs, would hate to drive this at night. Lots of road trains. Drive from Banka Banka was very boring with the landscape very dry and barren. Breaky at Three Ways roadhouse was nice and we had a fuel stop and lunch at Cammonweal in QLD. Arrived at Mt Isa. Not much here. Set up camp in an average van park. Off to Longreach tomorrow.

Left Katherine nice and early and stopped for breaky at Mataranka. After breaky we drive into the Bitter Springs National Park and had a swim in the thermal springs. This was beautiful with crystal clear flowing 33 degrees water that you could enter in one area and slowly float down to the exit.
