Hello everyone sorry for the delay, Internet access in India is like sunny weather in England! Ok let's get u up to speed.
Landed in Delhi via the best plane I have ever been on! However once off the plane reality kicked in! Laura was lucky enough to participate in the 1st scam of the trip, somebody had taken all the hand towels out the dispenser and handed one to her expecting a tip. We have now realized it is common practice here.
Driving to our hotel was the biggest eye opening experience of our brief lives so far, the poverty and hygiene is unbelievable! Thankfully Diane's advice half prepared us for that. We feel like celebrities everywhere we go, swarms of people want photos with us, open doors for us and want to shake our hand.
In Delhi our hotel was very nice, we went to Humanyuns tomb, Jama Masjid and The Ghandi Memorial. We had a guide which helped so much, it's not the sort of place I'd like to be at a loose end! We also went on a rickshaw ride through old Delhi, it's so surreal, monkeys, elephants and camels are everywhere! We have also witnessed Kashmir rugs being made by hand they take up to 1 year to make! Oh well Agra next!
