And so we have reached the end of our adventure, and what an adventure it has been. There were times when we thought we might not make it we are amazed at how much we have been lucky enough to see and do.
We have had a great time and have loved (nearly) every minute of it from the mountains of the Himalayas to the desert of Namibia, from the beaches of Hawaii to the beaches of Africa. We have been lucky enough to hold Pandas and stroke Lions, to stand on the Great Wall of China, walk through the Okavango Delta, see the Taj Mahal, get sprayed by the 'Smoke that Thunders', have a close call with a Rhino, watch sunrise over the Serengeti, get wind swept at the Cape of Good Hope and look up at the heights of Mount Everest.
We have eaten some incredible food (good and bad) one of the most memorable being Sezchuan Hotpot.
We survived Tingri and Varanasi.
We have slept in tents, trains, hostels, hotels, havelis, cabins, beach shacks, Tibetan sheds and travelled by foot, elephant, bus, car, truck, train, boat, pontoon, mokoro, and planes (lots of planes).
More importantly than all of this what has made this trip so enjoyable and such an incredible experience is the people we have met along the way and the great friendships that we have made.
Just a couple flights to go and we will be back home in sunny Edinburgh to begin the next chapter of our lives.
So here's to the world and all the fantastic people and places that we have encountered along the way.
Where's next?
Mark and Jane.
