Yo Yo!
We have been lots of places since the last blog, just havent had the time/energy to update!
Nha Trang - a good night life there, the sailing club was wicked and the 'why not bar' where we and the guys/gals from the days boat trip sampled their fish tank drink, which came out in a giant cool box and had something like two bottles of rum and a bottle of vodka and a bottle on Gin in, needless to say, we felt like death the morning after!
Hoi An - We rented a motorbike, it was good to have the freedom, we went all around the quiet parts and to the beach then down the highway and ended up at Marble Mountain at Dusk, we had the whole place to our selves as all the tourists go in the morning! You could see for miles from the top and there are loads of massive caves to explore etc..
Hue - We stopped off in hue for only one night as we were hearing from others that the sights there are nothing compared to what we may have already seen, so we flew out the next morning into Hanoi then thumbed a lift down the Halong City on the coast.
Halong Bay - we spent a couple of days on a boat trip around Halong Bay, Canoeing, swimming, drinking and singing! (trying to). it was paradise, a proper postcard place!
The boat trips are the only thing to do in Halong, we paid $150 each, only later to find out that someone only paid $40! It didnt really bother us as we had the best and biggest boat in the bay and the people on it were amazing. The guys who paid peanuts for the tours were argueing with the staff over passports and were treated badly, with smaller boats and no AC! (error)
One of the nights we stayed on an island so we ventured off on a motorbike into the national park. Yes we were only wearing shorts, T's and flip flops and yes we did go in the jungle! Error on our part there! WE HAVE NEVER SEEN SO MANY HUUUGE/MULTICOLOURED SPIDERS AND OTHER THINGS IN OUR LIVES!
Armed only with our motorbike helmets we were beating away the cob webs and branches from the trail we were following, to find a random man who looked really high and had a machetti in his hand! we picked up pace back to our bike, nursing our many mozzy bits! We then ran out of petrol as the tank had a hole in it, the locals found this extremely amusing as we were left sitting with them as they played pool and a girl went down into the town to get petrol for us!
We have been spending one or two nights in all of the above places, in between this we have been sitting on very long bus journeys and one 55min flight, more flights to come tomorrow where we are flying back down to Bangkok for one night then flying upto Chang Mai for our trekking in the jungle and cooking courses etc.. Its a bit of a long winded way to get there but it works our quicker, as we didnt fancy the 21 hour bus journey.
Over all we are having lots of fun and meeting some really cool people! Marks been networking lots as theres loads of web/graphicy/media people and was chuffed to meet one of the project managers from Google.com in the USA.
Edit: we have uploaded some piccies so take a look!
Hope you guys are good!
