24th 27th February Nasik...

Early morning train 06:00hrs takes us back to Nasik. We never go backward normally, however we had such a lovely time with Hashal on the train we couldnt refuse...

Hashal collect us from the station and its home to meet MUM Poonam a lovely lady very generous and a very good cook. I think she thought we haven't had a good meal since we have been in India. Well maybe true not home cooking like mummy makes..

After an enormous breakfast Hashal takes us off to see the local sites Nasik is a very important city linked with the hindu Lord Rama (Ramayana) & his wife Sita. Its an absorbing town with a Holy river Godavari. where we watched locals enjoying the river bathing, washing, enjoying a picnic.. Hashal talks us through the whole story whilst visiting the sacred places.

We enjoy an evening of much food, drink and laughter with Hashal, his motherand his Father Prashant, who is home from work now...

We visit the local market & Holy Bathing tank where again people enjoy the water. We experience a festival of Moksha (liberation of the soul) where the ashes of the deceased are immersed into the water..

Our last day everyone a little sad!!! we have had so much fun with these guys!!! We visit their family farm on the out skirts of the town we enjoy the local village life all farmers, women collecting potatoes by hand, The men are ploughing the field by Ox and Cart.. They all take time to smile and wave WOW what an wonderful opportunity we return to the village to enjoy lunch in the home of a lovely lady. We can only communicate by lots of gestures, I show her my photos of my family and we both share the moment of being 2 old Nanna's. Look for photo's
