We had about an hour to spare this morning before starting our journey back to Vancouver. We went for our last walk around town, heading a different direction out of the door. During our time in Victoria, we hadn't once seen a Tim's, we'd seen cups but no actual shop! As soon as we turned the corner, what was next door to us?! A Tim's!!! We could even see the building from our room but not the sign! Big HUMF!!
After our short walk we caught the bus to the ferry, which proceeded to break down about ½ hour into the journey. Another one soon arrived and we made it to the ferry in good time. We wanted to go Whale watching whilst on the island but it was silly money so we decided to do it ourselves on the ferry, as they both took a similar route! We got a window seat so we were in with a good chance!! However, whilst Mark was getting the coffee, I caught a glimpse of a small black triangle in the water! I got very excited but realised that none else around me was so I had to keep hush! Mark had the camera on him so I couldn't even take photos! I'm not sure it was anything, but I saw it about 5-6 times so there's a chance it could have been!
We made it to the hostel in good time, all the transport seemed to be waiting for us so we were lucky! We thought we were in a 4bed dorm as that was what we had paid for, but when we got to our room it was a 2bed! Marvellous!
We then went in search of some food - only MCD's but it filled us up! Our hostel has no cooker so it makes eating cheap difficult! We also went mooching in the shops at laptops again! After much umming and arghing we managed to get a good deal on a dinky lil thing so will be able to update the blog more often! It will also save us money paying for the internet and save the trouble we have trying to upload pictures and planning further ahead.
I also called Aunty Barbara (my great Aunt) as we were hoping to meet up as she lives in North Vancouver. She moved over here 26 years ago so I've never met her. Unfortunately, because of our tight schedule we were unable to meet up but are hoping to next year when she comes to the UK and when we return to Canada! I never knew that she was a teacher over here, and she has informed me that I can use my degree over here..something to consider for the future!
The weather changed late afternoon and became very dark, cloudy and wet! Not impressed!
