Mark & Robyn's Travels
I am very glad I had the miles to book international first class because besides it being very roomy and comfortable, we had a good buffer between us and about 50 teenagers on a group trip to London. Can't imagine what it must have been like back in coach, but bless those poor people who had no idea what they were in for when they booked their flight to London. Anyway I have attached a video (it is a .MOV so Quicktime will be needed to view) I took it shortly after we boarded the plane and after we had each been given a glass of champagne. Then Robyn grabbed the camera and the results are evident.
We arrived in London on time-- thank you very much AA-- and took the Heathrow Express to Paddington Station where Robyn decides she needs an arrival picture.
She takes many more pictures on the way to our hotel such as the inside of our cab and anything she saw that we passed. These pictures will not be uploaded and only shared with family we really want to irritate.
After finally getting into our hotel room and having a chance to freshen up, we headed out to the Portabello Road Street Market. If anyone likes crowded street markets with miles and miles of ****, then this is the market for them. We, on the other hand, did not care for it, but it was one of those places I guess everyone needs to see once in a lifetime. .
After we left the market we decided to head over to Picadilly Circus. Once Robyn saw it she said this was the type of London street scene she was expecting. There was a certain amount of foreshadowing in that comment. Not 30 seconds later we start hearing a huge commotion coming down Picadilly Street-- shouting, yelling, horns honking, whistles blowing-- and all of sudden a stream of naked middle aged men and women walking and on bikes enters Picadilly Circus. There had to be hundreds of them. It was not a pretty site and I am sharing the least offending photo Robyn took.
After that excitement we headed down Regent Street and Robyn decided I hadn't been in a picture lately so here I am again standing under a Coach sign, why I don't know. (I later found out it was for the sake of my daughter, Melanie, who feels the need to buy overpriced purses.)
We hung around Picadilly Circus for awhile before finally heading back to the hotel and dinner. At dinner we decided that everything we saw happening in Picadilly Circus today was just any Saturday in London.

Debby I can't believe you didn't like Portobello Road, I loved it! That's where I bought my amber ring when I was there with Mel. Oh well, to each his own. I tried to call you before you left but Melanie said you turned off your phone early, I sent you a text, let me know if you get it. Enjoy your trip!
Debby I didn't exactly see Robyn drinking her champagne.
Debby Gross!!!!!
mark_robyn What can I say some people like flea markets and some people don't, we fall in the don't category.
Melanie This is too funny and kind of disgusting!!
Melanie How about you by me a nice Coach purse from London! :)
Melanie Typical!
Jhon I'm offended that you didn't post all the pictures; I would've thought we would be some of the people that you wanted to irritate the most...
Jhon ... like after the shot 'more of the market' you could've added one called 'still more of the market', and then another one titled 'even still more of the market', etc...
