Today I began my day with the usual morning tea (with milk and sugar - like always in New Zealand) and a good walk to the Waitere Falls with Anna. It's really nice to walk in these North Island - almost tropical - forests again, with such a large variety of trees and plants and still non-tropical temperatures (although you heat up when climbing a mountain like we did ;-) ).
Later we went to Te Ahora for lunch and at 3pm I met a girl I only got to know at the bridge club yesterday, who took me to Auckland.
The club evening was actually the nicest one I ever experienced. There were five tables with some players who had only learned bridge last year, but the atmosphere was so nice, everyone was having lots of fun and it really felt like they were a group of friends - even though some didn't know each other before.
Now in Auckland I am staying with a bridge family as well and I though once more that I've never been so glad about these bridge contacts. I got to know two junior players, we cooked, had cookies icecream, talked about bridge and played games all evening. It is absolutly awesome :)

Pajc Hasn't life turned out rather satisfyingly? You started out going to the club just to have some fun playing cards and now you're on the other side of the world, meeting nice people and enjoying bridge evenings (not just with old ladies ;) ). Have some wonderful days in Auckland - discover the city and find lots of great cars! :)
Marie It's actually very interesting to think about just how much in life happens just so randomly. Sometimes the smallest things you do or decisions you make have just such outstanding impacts on your life - and sometimes you spend so much time thinking something over and it turns out to be not that important after all. It's scary and kind of cool at the same time. I am trying to get used to rely more on the random things right now. Just some random thinking about life.
