So I thought I would start my blog before I left the country and tell you all a bit of the traumatic week I've had.
If I believed in signs, there would of been a lot of signs to tell me not to leave my bed this morning.
So I have been trying to finalise a lot of my travel before I left the UK, especially the parts where I go to Guatemala and Honduras due to the scary element of these countries, but the company I am going with took for ever to contact, were very evasive with information and decided to hike the prices up on the projects I am doing, after many days I managed to sort it.
So I thought I was all good to go and so Monday I tried to transfer some money to my travel card, but my Internet banking wouldn't work, so I thought i'd just change some money at the post office, I turn up, only to find they are on strike!!!! This gets sorted after some messing around and help from a friend.
Then the packing had to commence, packing for a weeks holiday can be hard, can you imagine packing for 2 years! It took me about 5 hours and when I had finished I couldn't lift my bag!!! I was so angry and upset that in a fit of rage I halved almost all my clothes (slightly worried that was a bad idea)! Finally got everything to fit in, just!
Then after horrible but lovely good byes to friends and family yesterday, my lovely man who was supposed to take me to the airport got pulled into work, which was horrible as goodbyes were to be said earlier than expected but transport could be easily fixed! So I go to buy a train ticket which thankfully goes through but then my card gets declined on a later transaction, this is the account with all my travel funds! I ring the bank only to find my card has been compromised and that they have cancelled it!!! But I'm leaving today??!! The poor lady on the phone helped me transfer all my money to a different bank, thank god, but not before I'd had a heart attack!!
So the journey to the airport had to begin, this went well until I have to get on the tube in the sweltering heat and have to stand from Liverpool street to Paddington with my massive bag, I had sweat running down my back, chest and legs and could see the sweat running down my arms as I was grabbing the over head handle to stay upright, I thought I was going to pass out!!
So with all the drama over I finally make it to Heathrow, check in, and I ask the man my allowance for the flight, 23kgs, so I ask what my bag was, 23kgs!!! Finally something went right and now I don't feel so bad about chucking loads out of my bag!!
Thanks to all my friends and family who have had to deal with my panics and doubts over the past few months, you mean the world to me and now I get to see the world (cheesy!!!) x x x
