After a short coach journey, I arrived in Townsville to get the Ferry over to Magnetic Island. I arrived at my hostel which was so relaxed right on the beach and bob Marley playing in the background, this is exactly what I needed after Cairns. I met a couple of people on the shuttle bus to the hostel so we just had a drink and dinner together and planned to go to the Koala sanctuary the next day so we all had an early night.

We all had a massive lie in then made our way to the Koala sanctuary which was pretty expensive but worth it. We got to hold a crocodile, feed a cockatoo with our mouths (which was interesting), hold a turtle, snakes and of course a Koala which was lush it was so cwtchy!

It was a very chilled out 2 nights, but allowed me to recover in time for the Whitsundays which is my next stop.
