Today we went to Kuranda, via the skyrail which was very windy and wet. Had a walk in the rainforest then to the aboriginal cultural park called Tjapuki to see interesting shows and demonstrations also Spear and boomerang throwing lessons

Restful day today we have a full day planned for tomorrow. Katie and I found a gorgeous little cafe for breakfast where Katie had seconds it was so good. I had the best cup of coffee I have had in ages . We then wandered around the area along the esplanade and the shops. An hour by the pool then got ready for dinner. Then the heavens opened and it poured but it stops as soon as it starts and it is still nice and warm.

Yesterday we were collected at 1 and went to meet the rest of the family. We had a good few hours with them the six small children ranging from 18 months to 10 were entertained by Katie all afternoon. Then we went to mass in the Cathedral and out to dinner with Uncle Alan and Ruth.

Early flight from cold Melbourne to sunny Cairns. Unpacked and then straight down to the pool for some sun and warmth. Hotel looks to be on a great position so we will have a relax here for a couple of hours then off for a wander around. Really pleasant walk along the front found a lovely restaurant, now back to the hotel for coffee.

Early start to the day today, breakfast then off to Ballarat. Sovereign Hill was the name of the mining town in Ballarat that found some of the most important gold finds in Australia. Thanks to the tin miners who came over from Cornwall the mining here lasted some 2-3 years more than it would have, due to their methods. Then back to the hotel for Katie and I but Adam has gone off to the Aussie rules football match with Uncle Alan, Brian and Carl.
