Hello from Brisbane,

I arrived here a few days ago from Surfers but its been a bit manic, but in a good way. When I arrived I was eating lunch in the kitchen and started talking to this guy called Daz who I got on with really well. He offered to show me around Brisbane so of course I accepted.

Brisbane doesn't have a natural beach, which is a bit strange but they have built one so we had a walk down there and around town. Then met up with some of his friends. Totally randomly I was sat in this Barmy Army pub when I saw about 25 guys from Barrow out for the Ashes / TriNations. I couldn't believe it!

Had a great night out with Daz and his mates (see the piccies) and then Daz moved on to Byron the next day. I think we are gonna meet up in Sydney as he is heading there soon.

Then met 2 great guys in my room, Marc and Kev. Essex boys out here for the Ashes so I have spent the last few days with those two. Its like a comedy sketch the entire time, they have not really travelled before so I find it hilarious how naiive they are sometimes (I'll save their embarassment by not going into the stories!) but they are great lads and Im really looking forward to seeing them in Sydney in January.

So I fly back to Sydney on Wednesday, I am looking forward t going back. I do miss Sydney, my apartment and my friends but most all Helen is flying in Thursday and I am so excited. Its been 6 months since I have seen anyone familiar and to spend my birthday with one of my friends is fantastic.
