If you know me, Margaret that is, you know that I'm not big into magnets or t-shirts that say "My boyfriend went to Taiwan, and all I got was a t-shirt." Those aren't my type of souveniers. I really like things that are unique and special to that area. Well, Kenny chose the perfect souvenier for me.

Kenny, his mom, and his sister went to a jeweler in Chiayi City that specializes in jade. Apparently, they shopped for quite some time! He made his sister, Cora, try on lots of necklaces to find the right one. She even commented that she'd never see Kenny so determined to find the right one!

He made a great choice! I've never had jade before, and it's so different but suits me perfectly. The piece of jade is surrounded by smaller stones (I like to think they're diamonds!) which give it some extra sparkle. Kenny did tell me the original price (shocking how expensive jade is!) but said he got a good deal and refused to say anymore.

Jade is apparently quite a good gift to buy if you're in Taiwan or China. However, as much as I love the necklace, the best present was hearing ALL about his trip and seeing all the beautiful pictures, which he'll be posting soon. I'm just happy he's back... and only 1 more week until we leave for Japan! I truly am one lucky girl!
