OK some of you sharp shooters might have noticed that we aren't in Cincinnati as originally planned in our route but are actually in Omaha, Nebraska!!! We caught the California Zephyr Amtrak train out of Chicago yesterday afternoon and arrived here a little before midnight on the 8th. We took this route after a tip off from a guy we met in the hostel in Montreal. After sleeping right through breakfast and surfacing around 9.45 we took the free shuttle bus(yes free) to the Zoo that they have here, its one of the top 5 in North America for its conservation programes etc... We are glad we did the place was amazing and huge they have a great set up and it is so educational and informative. We got to see all the usual stuff they have a big desert set up in a dome and a huge nocturnal section as well as a great aquarium. We called the hotel and they collected us from the zoo in the FREE shuttle bus and dropped us in the Old Market part of town, this is the main district for shopping, eating and drinking (speaking of drinking the driver gave us a couple of chips for a free drink at the local micro brewery place!!!!) We had a couple of drinks and a meal sat in the sunshine,it has been so hot here today then our driver collected us and drove us back to the hotel. This is where we are at the moment waiting to be taken to the train station for our 10.30pm connecting train to Denver, Colorado. We are overnighting on the train which saves accomodation although we are struggling to find anywhere in Denver at the minute. See you in Denver!! Love M & M
