Hello everybody when we left you yesterday we had a look around town. Luang Prabang is a UNESCO world heritage site and has lovely buildings. We also spent some time down by the river even though we had spent the last few days on it!!!!
In the evening we visited yet another night market and picked up a few nik naks before splashing out on a few nice glasses of wine in a trendy wine bar!!!!
Today it was a clamber up the hill to visit Phu Si Temples, on the way up there are lots of Buddhas to see and even an imprint of Buddhas foot, although I was a little sceptical!!! From the top you got great views down into Luang Prabang, that was after we had caught our breath and guzzled about 2 gallons of water to cool down. After a while we descended down the other side using the 320 steps that led us to the main street. Had lunch then booked ourselves in for a massage.
I am writing this about 1 hour after having above mentioned massage and feel like I have been run over by a truck but at the same time really relaxed which is a bit strange. Mel on the other hand opted for a pedicure to sort out her dodgy feet. They actually look older than Buddhas feet!!!!!!
I am glad to report that they are all shiny and smooth and she even had her nails painted. The pedicure and massage came to a grand total of $10US so quite a bargain really.
Just heading out now for some dinner and maybe another glass of wine in the fancy place with the nicest toilet in SE Asia.
Lots of Love
M and M
